News from the Dreaming: The Bjornlinga Mini-Books Retired
After much careful thought, I have taken the Bjornlinga mini-books out of print.
As a creator, I have a vision for how my work should appear and be produced. And while the material in those two early volumes was good—and the feedback from readers was uniformly positive—they did not meet my expectations.
Archaios is a big world. And The Bjornlinga Saga is my first public unveiling of this mythos—an essential part of it.
Originally, Bjornlinga was conceived as a straightforward tale, something sharp and simple. But it has grown in the telling. Dramatically. And the world around it has grown with it.
Right now, I am writing and creating more than I ever have in my life. The material welling up within me is, at times, overwhelming. I’m writing, unbroken, for three to four hours every day, often more. What began as an adventure tale has become something deeper, richer—something that can only be understood in the reading.
To call The Bjornlinga Saga a “fantasy novel” is like calling Moby-Dick a fishing story. It misses the point.
This is mythic literature.
Not an invention, but a revelation.
Not an escape, but a return.
And having realized the enormity of this story—its mythic weight and its importance—I cannot issue it in fragmentary installments, as if it were casual entertainment. It deserves better than that.
I will be releasing The Bjornlinga Saga, fully revised, as a single book that encompasses the entire saga.
Stay tuned. The saga is not ending. It is just beginning.
